NY Occupy Wall Street - Police say an Occupy Wall Street protester dumped a tub of human waste down a public stairwell and inside a bank vestibule, and got caught on video.
Buffet Tax - According to a new congressional report, the so-called “Buffett tax” would raise $47 billion in new revenue over a decade. In other words, it will do nothing to help our massive deficit.
Gas Prices - With an end to high gas prices nowhere in sight, President Obama took to the road this past week to promote his energy policies. He favors more renewable energy and therefore has done nothing to increase oil production.
Latinos – Illinois representative Luis Gutierrez attributes racial hatred to Latinos to people like “Romney”.
Keystone Pipeline - President Barack Obama announced in Cushing, Oklahoma, this past week that his administration will expedite the permit for the southern half of the Keystone XL pipeline. And Democrats have the nerve to call Romney a flip flopper, just last week Obama was personally lobbying against this project.
John Edwards – Edwards denied a report by Manhattan news site DNAinfo that he was a client of New York "Millionaire Madam" Anna Gristina's brothel.
ObamaCare – The Miami Herald Reported “The Republican-led House voted 223 to 181 to do away with a new 15-member board designed to help control Medicare costs, a move likely to be rejected by the Democratic-dominated Senate.” The two year anniversary of the law passed and Pelosi says the law guarantees “Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness”. In other news, the Supreme Court held oral arguments on the law and a decision is expected in about three months.
Solyndra - Obama said in an interview “Solyndra was not our program, per se. Congress -- Democrats and Republicans -- put together a loan guarantee program.” However, several key government offices were involved with the Obama administration’s messaging plans and other preparations as the collapse of the taxpayer-backed solar company Solyndra was imminent, newly released documents from the White House show.
Regulatory Madness – The Chamber of Commerce has gotten into the March Madness theme by having a bracket of insane government regulations. People may go and vote on which government regulations are the craziest. Among the contenders: the NLRB's "ambush elections" rule; the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau; the "essential health benefits package" rule; and various environmental regulations.
Debbie Wasserman-Schultz – On the Ryan budget proposal: “It is a Republican path to poverty that would pass like a tornado through America’s nursing homes.” She also proclaimed ObamaCare as a “boom to small businesses”.
Afghanistan – The U.S. paid the families of the shooting victims (killed or wounded) by Army Staff Sargent Robert Bales 860 thousand dollars combined (50 thousand dollars for each person killed and 10 thousand for each person wounded). In other news, Reuters reports “U.S. negotiation efforts with the Taliban have failed”.
